In the Death Note movie series, starting with the first, the differences start early. For example, in the movie Light has a girlfriend and didn't have one in the anime until Misa showed up. He ends up sacrificing his girlfriend at the end of the first movie and uses her death to kill off another woman; Raye Penbers Wife. In the anime, he just has her hand herself.
In the second movie, he meets Misa and it follows most of the anime series until the end, when Light 'kills L'. In the movie, L wrote his name in the death note before Light did, cancelling the death from light, allowing L to live about 20 days longer. In the anime, Light gets Rem to kill L and L actually dies. Lights death also appears in the second movie as well, getting shot by Matsuda and Ryuk writing his name in the Death Note. Lights actual death was by ryuk, yes, but he died in a warehouse after being found out by Near, who doesnt appear in the movies along with Matt and Mello.
Its not different
Death Note. The Death Note manga is better then the anime.

Yes, there are many differences between the manga and the anime, but not so many that the plot is drastically altered. In general, it is about the same. This includes the scene in episode 25, where L dries Light's feet for him. In the manga, there is no indication that L expects to die soon.Light's death is also different. In the anime, he runs from the warehouse and Ryuk writes his name and he dies on some steps, seeing the ghostly semblance of L as he dies. In the manga Light is screaming at Ryuk to write Near's name in the notebook but is distraught to see that Ryuk actually wrote his name instead.Additionally, the pacing differs between the two, with the anime moving along much quicker than the manga.Among these are many other small differences.----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------Another 'lil difference is that in the manga, we know that there is no heaven or hell, it is even stated, but in the anime, it was more unclear, a lot of people didn't even figure it out. in the manga, there is even a scene where they talk about it, this does not appear in the anime.

It may depends on your observation but I know that Death Note is not the saddest manga. It can be the drama ones.
