The respiratory system is made of the conducting airways (bronchi, bronchioles, etc.) and the alveoli (air sacs). Alveloi are lined with two major cell types: type I pneumocytes, which are broad and flat and mediate gas exchange, and type II pneumocytes, which 1) make surfactant to keep the alveoli from collapsing and 2) serve as stem cells to regenerate type I pneumocytes after injury.
The respiratory system includes epithelial tissue, connective tissue, cartilage, nervous tissue, and smooth muscle.
epithelial cells
The major cells affected by influenza viruses, including swine flu H1N1/09, are those in the respiratory system mucous tissues.
1)Breathing2) Transport of O2 from the lungs to the rest of the body; transport of CO2 from the tissues back to the lungs3) O2 diffuses from Red Blood Cells into body cells; CO2 moves into the blood
The major tissues involved in the skeletal system include connective tissues and muscle. The connective tissues help hold the skeletal system together.
The lungs are the major organ in the respiratory system, which also includes the nerves, airways and blood vessels that serve them.
The Respiratory System
The lungs are the major organs of the respiratory system. The respiratory system consists of nose, nasal passages, nasopharynx, larynx, trachea and lungs.

Breathing
The main organs of the respiratory system are the nose, pharynx, trachea, bronchi, and lungs.
Bringing oxygen into the body's cells and removing Carbon Dioxide from the body.
Major organ in respiratory system is lungs. Major parts of respiratory system would be nose, trachea, bronchus, bronchioles, alveoli and diaphragm Alveoli are the basic units of lungs.
Heart: Circulatory system. Lungs: Respiratory system.
