Carmex contains natural ingredients and the quantities remain proprietary. However, the ingredients of Carmex are as follows:
Phenol is not part of the formula that is available in the European Union countries. Phenol is not permitted in cosmetics in the EU.
Additionally, mineral oil is included in the formula that is dispenses in squeeze tubes to keep the balm soft in colder temperatures, and botanical wax is added to sticks to keep the product solid while carried in pockets. Some Carmex products also include sunscreen.
There is none because it is a complex mixture of at least 20 ingredients. Cf. Related links for unauthorized information.
Absolutely not; that is a so-called urban myth, a nice rumor but totally untrue if only because sperm of any animal including man can only be kept outside of the body if deep frozen. The active ingredients of Carmex lip balm are camphor (1.7%), menthol (0.7%), salicylic acid, and phenol (0.4%). The inactive ingredients (that do nothing but give the balm its flavor and substance) are beeswax, cetyl esters, flavor, lanolin, parafin wax, petrolatum, and cocoa seed butter.
Carmex lip balm is not tested on animals.
The first pot of Carmex came in 1937.

Carmex is available in a variety of forms and flavors.
Carmex is made at Carma Labs. Alfred Woelbing invented Carmex lip balm 1937. He made it by hand in his home until moving into a facility in the 1950's.
I've tried carmex before and it's pretty much done the job for me, if you are wondering what flavor to try I would stick to the original cherry. Hope I was a help! i love carmex. it works wonders for me if your lips are severly dry.
