"...for they shall be called the Children of God." (Matt.5:9)

"Be ye (or 'become ye') therefore perfect, even as your Father which is in heaven is perfect." (verse 48)

One example:

According to the Amplified Bible Matthew 5:5 says: ". . . happy, are the meek (the mild, patient, long-suffering), for they shall inherit the earth!"

In this case, the value is: -- being 'meek'.

Instead of being 'proud & haughty, impatient, and short-fused (loosing your temper easily /anger / leading to hatred); meek ones trust in Jehovah to solve the worlds problems. Jehovah has promised to 'cut off' the 'evildoers'.

Then 'the meek' will be granted their inheritance -- the earth; with finally 'an abundance of peace'. (you can also see Psalm 37:9-11 & verse 29.)

The other beatitudes have their own redeeming values; depending on the subject matter of each particular beattitude.
