Gladys Swartout, American soprano- mid-twentieth century, it is fitting to close with Grace Moore who was probably the only real Opera star to cross-over into popular music- and movies as well! She is best known for the song (Love Me Forever) which first came out in l933 and was written by Blanchard and Malone. In a very loose sense she was the Ronnie Spector of her day!- which ended tragically young.
