Individual numbers have no universal symbolic meaning in dreams. Its only significance rests in the context of the dream: two what? Two puppies, two Sandwiches, or two selves? Each of these pairs would have a different meaning. Dream interpretation also considers what is happening in a particular dream as well as the emotions experienced by the dreamer.

Sorry ... dreams don't mean anything. There are mystics and self help books that claim that they do have deeper meanings or predict the future but this is not the case. Some psychoanalysis techniques use dreams to determine what you are thinking about based on the mind mulling over past events and fears and presenting these thoughts in dreams. However, there is no standard interpretation of dream "symbols" and a lot of the understanding of the underlying concerns and causes comes from the interview with the client and the analysis of their own interpretation.
The dream refers to two sources of information that are telling you the same thing. In a somewhat different interpretation, there are two channels of information that are somehow connected to each other; one event might be contingent on the other or they may simply influence each other.
