They are usually close to water, and made of sticks and such, just like any other birds nest.
Cat tails, blue gill fish, lady great blue herons and stuff like that
the like to eat
Usual predatory animals like cougars, coyotes, wolves, bears, that sort of thing.
Blue herons and the Lesser Blue Herons are prevalent where I live. They like shallow fresh water ponds or lakes where there are a lot of fish for them to eat. Since herons hunt by sight, murky water is not very helpful for them, as they cannot see the fish.
Wading birds like Herons
Blue herons eat anything from fish, insects, frogs, toads to moles and small mammals! They will clear out your garden pond within seconds so secure your pond before the heron gets to them?Indeed they will. Expensive Koi? You've extended an open invitation for raccoons and Great Blue Herons. Depending on where you live, they may not migrate. It's a ginormous fine to kill them. A friend of mine has an organic vineyard and watched Great Blue Herons hunting down mice.
the great blue herons lay about 3 through 7 eggs they lay 1 egg the first day 2 eggs the second day and 2 the next day and the next day 2 again, but the great blue herons stay on the eggs till all the eggs hatch if some hatch and some are left overs they wait till all of the eggs are hatched and feed them.(they switch every few times the male sits on the eggs and the female sits on the eggs) the parents wait till there young great blue heron has its feathers all grown then the will start to get up and start to walk with their baby chicks following behind themI HOPE YOU LIKE IT
