The notes of a cello consist of the "C" on the third ledger line under the base clef up to several of the notes in the treble clef. But in first position without extensions it the first "D" above the bass clef.

∙ 11y agoThe cello is played within the bass and tenor range, music typically recorded using the bass clef. From lowest to highest the open strings are C, G, D & A - the gap between each open string is a fifth, although each individual string has a range of around two octaves if higher fingering positions are used.

C, D, E, F, G, A, B, C.
