Cheques usually have the below numbers:

  1. Cheque number - A unique number that can be used to identify the cheque. No two cheques issued by a bank will have the same cheque number
  2. MICR Number - A number that is printed in a magnetic format that can be identified by computer scanners. This usually contains the account number, bank branch routing number etc.
