What allows water and nutreients to pass into the cell?

Water and nutrients enter cells primarily through the cell membrane, which is selectively permeable. This membrane contains various proteins that facilitate the transport of substances via passive diffusion, facilitated diffusion, or active transport mechanisms. Aquaporins specifically allow water to move rapidly across the membrane, while transport proteins help move nutrients like glucose and ions. Additionally, endocytosis can be used for larger molecules or particles.
