About 1 in 730,000.

Yellowstones last super volcanic eruption was approx. 640,000 years ago.

It's average time between eruptions is 730,000 years.

Was a Super Volcano every 600,000 to 800,000 years.

That's the scientific numbers, I say maybe a little more dangerous because it erupts every 600-800 thousand years, and it has been 640 thousand already.

If we start seeing increased activity and earthquakes around yellowstone then keep an eye on it, but if the volcano activity just settles down and it sleeps for another 150,000 years, don't hold your breath yet.

Currently, there is no indication that Yellowstone will have a super volcano to erupt. The activity at Yellowstone has remain constant since earth scientists had first started to monitor it over 30 years ago.

The Actual date and time of the year that Yellowstone will blow is unknown. There have been some signs of increasing seismic activity, but this activity has been monitored for less than a century and is likely little more than a blip given the time intervals between eruptions. Technically an eruption could comes soon, as no two volcanoes give the exact same warning signs. Those for a supervolcano are the least understood as none have erupted in recorded history. That said, most analysis suggests that an eruption any time soon is unlikely. Recent seismic analysis indicates that the magma is probably too viscous to erupt. Not all eruptions produced by Yellowstone are super eruptions. However, calculations suggest that the odds even of a smaller eruption similar to the 1883 eruption of Karaktoa in any given year are less than 1 in 200,000 unless significant change occurs in the magma chamber.

One common misconception is that Yellowstone is "overdue" for a super eruption, citing that these eruptions occur every 600,000 years and the last one was 640,000 years ago. However, this volcano does not erupt at regular intervals The volcano has produced 3 super eruptions 2.1 million, 1.3 million, and 640,000 years ago, which puts the intervals between them at 800,000 and 660,000 years. Three eruptions are not enough to establish a recurrence interval.

If such an eruption were to occur ashfall would impact large portions of the United States while sulfur emissions would significantly reduce temperatures around the northern hemisphere, possibly for years.

They don't know. The average cycle for the Yellowstone Volcano erupting is about 600,000 years, there is a lot of variation. Once the volcano went about 800,000 years without a major eruption. However, scientists do not see signs of an imminent risk of eruption.

  • The most recent lava flow in the Yellowstone Caldera was about 70,000 years ago.
  • The most recent violent eruption was about 150,000 years ago; it carved out the West Thumb of Lake Yellowstone.
  • The three "super-eruptions" occurred 2.1 million, 1.3 million and 640,000 years ago.

Yellowstone has previously erupted 3 times. The oldest eruption was about 2 million years ago, the second was about 1.2 million years ago and the last eruption took place about 600 thousand years ago. It is not extinct.

There is no way of knowing. Even ordinary volcanic eruptions, with known warning signs, are difficult to predict, with uncertainties of at least a few years when we do have decent information. With Yellowstone, no eruption of that sort has occurred in recorded history so we aren't even sure what the warning signs would be, even if an eruption were imminent.

It has been about 70,000 years since the last eruption and 640,0000 years since the last super eruption.

How is a volcano and Yellowstone different?

A volcano is a vent or reupture in the Earth's crust through which lava, ash, and gas can erupt. Yellowstone is a national park in the United States known for its hot springs and geysers. The park is the site of a massive caldera associated with a supervolcano.

How did the Yellowstone volcano erupt in 1350 bc?

The volcano of 1350BC erupted and destroyed the entire park. It caused a year long winter over most of North America from shore to shore, and even in Europe. The volcano at Yellowstone WILL erupt again; it's not an if but a when. When it blows, scientists estimate that it will destroy most of the western half of the US and probably North America and cause major weather changes across the globe.

Will the eruption of Yellowstone affect Singapore?

The eruption of the Yellowstone super volcano is generally accepted to be inevitable. So, when the super volcano does erupt, it is likely to be an ELE (Extinction Level Event). It is likely to end most if not all life on Earth. Even life in Singapore.
