The purpose of the wiring harness is to help keep wires together instead of hanging freely. You can purchase a new wiring harness at any auto repair shop.
The wiring harness can be removed by unplugging all of the wires. The wiring harness is also held in place by several retaining screws. Remove the retaining screws.
A cable harness, also known as a wire harness, cable assembly, wiring assembly or wiring loom, is a string of cables and/or wires which transmit informational signals or operating currents (energy).
The way to plug in the harness depends on the type of harness that you have. Some are designed to unplug a connector then insert the harness inline with the wiring. Some require a special connector that clamps on the side of the wires, while others require wires to be cut and spliced together.
On the Safari's, the wiring harness in between the door and the body become brittle with usage.....therefore when it rains, moisture gets in the boot-sleeve where the wiring harness sits in. Check all wiring for discolouration or torn wires. There is no such thing. You must be referring to the wiring harness. If that is the case, it is any bundle of wires taped together or secured by confolute tubing.
In my case on a 2001 Dodge Intrepid, there were two bare wires in the wiring harness coming into the trunk lid. It was in the area where the wiring harness is clamped to the trunk (left side) just at the lip of the trunk recess. I wiggled that harness and got the dash trunk light to flash on & off. Peeling back the wiring harness cover at that point revealed the bare wires. Taped them off individually, and then retaping wiring harness at that point solved my problem.
No.....They look the same but they are not the same. The wires have been put in different places.
you need the proper wiring harness to change the stereo in a cobalt or the security features will kick in once you have the proper harness you just have to match wires
