The metal part as a whole is called the sawplate. The part of the sawplate that is furthest from the handle is called the toe. The part that is nearest the handle is called the heel. Some saws have a metal part that is attached to the back of a sawplate to reinforce it. This is simply called the back (hence the name backsaw). Opposite the back is the toothline, made up of teeth. This is the part that does the cutting. The areas in between the teeth are called gullets. The teeth are pushed alternately side -to-side. This determines the kerf of the saw (how wide of a cut line you will make). On saws meant to cut across the grain of the wood (crosscut saws), the teeth are each sharpened with a beveled cutting edge much like a knife. The angle of that bevel is called the fleam.
A handsaw has two parts but only part that is found in a toolbox.
A handsaw, which is designed to cut through wood, can also easily cut through your fingers if you let them get in the way of what you are doing. I will also mention that it is very easy to cut inaccurately with a handsaw, which is a lesser hazard (not as serious as cutting yourself). Table saws are much more accurate.
A backsaw is a handsaw with reinforcement along its bottom edge.
