The Pinnacles are limestone formations contained within Nambung National Park, near the town of Cervantes in Western Australia.
The Pinnacles National Park is an usual desert landscape featuring ndreds and hundreds of sandstone structures of various shapes and sizes, called the Pinnacles. It is located close to the coastal town of Cervantes, which is about 200 km north of Perth, the capital city.

The major Australian landform known as the Pinnacles are not in New South Wales. The Pinnacles, a vast desert of odd sandstone formations, is in Western Australia, near the coastal town of Cervantes. There is, however, a Pinnacle Mountain northwest of Grenfell in New South Wales, and another mountain features known as The Pinnacles in northern NSW, just north of Grafton. There are two coastal features also known as the Pinnacles, but these are only minor. The Pinnacles are a sub surface formation off the mid north coast of New South Wales. It is an excellent SCUBA dive site, with Grey Nurse sharks being present. Further south, near Eden, is another site known as the Pinnacles, which is a beach.
One could consider the Pinnacles, a desert of strange sandstone formations, to be "earth pillars". They are located near the mid-Western Australian coast, near the town of Cervantes.
The Pinnacles are situated three kilometres out of Cervantes. Cervantes is 244 km from Perth. The entire trip is about 3 and a half hours, but it is definitely worth it, to see these marvellous, twisted shapes and formations out in the desert, so close to the ocean.
The closest desert to Perth, Western Australia, would be the Pinnacles Desert, a national park about three hours' drive north of Perth. It is a unique desert right on the western coast, and featuring hundreds of limestone pillars in eerie formations.
