The countries with the largest populations of both Buddhists and Muslims are Malaysia, Thailand, and Myanmar. There is also a large concentration of Buddhists and Muslims in China.
Buddhism is practiced all over the world. While the Shakyamuni or Guatama Buddha originally taught in Nepal and India, the majority of those populations today are not Buddhists. Tibet, Bhutan, Thailand, and a few other Southeast Asian nations are primarily Buddhist, and there are large populations of Buddhists in Japan and China, and in Western countries Buddhist practices are being adopted and transformed rapidly.
China has the largest populations of Buddhists. Other countries with a large percentage of that faith are Thailand, Burma, Sri Lanka, and South Korea.
There are MANY kinds of Buddhists. Some pray in temples, others don't. For example, some Buddhists focus more on seated meditation (at home, at monasteries, in the forest, at centers, and possibly at temples) while others focus on following the Buddhist teachings in their everyday lives. However, there are also millions of Buddhists who do pray in temples. This is especially common in Asian countries with large lay populations.

I am not sure whether you mean where in the world or where in their communities, so I will answer both. Buddhists can be found on all continents except Antarctica (unless, of course one happens to be visiting there). Buddhist populations are the highest in East Asia. Buddhists, like Catholic Christians, can be divided into two groups, Lay People and Monks & Nuns. Lay people live in their own houses or apartments in most communities throughout a country. Monks and Nuns ussully live in a monastery.
