Why do liberals hate your freedoms?
'Liberals' (since the term Liberal actually has multiple meanings) do not hate freedom but, for the most part, have a different conception of freedom. They make no distinction between positive rights (rights which require people to do something to fulfill them) and negative rights (rights which require people to not do something to fulfill them). For example, they generally believe in rights such as to education, a minimum standard of living, to healthcare, etc. However, many 'Conservatives' either do not believe in positive rights or regard them as not mandating an obligation (due to rights inherently proposing an obligation to fulfill them). Since positive rights required redistribution and spending to complete, they are a hot subject of political debate because some people ultimately question how, by what means, and/or if they should even have to pay at all. To a 'Liberal', completion of freedom, however, requires fulfillment of positive rights, which may ultimately violate negative rights. For example, redistribution to pay for programs via taxation, when one doesn't wish to pay for a program, may be viewed as violation of the negative right to property. In that way, Conservatives tend to see such actions as 'hating freedom' whereas Liberals see it as completing freedom.
