The most serious negative of having a debit card is that if there is an incorrect charge, the bank has your money and they will keep it until and unless you figure out how to make them give it back. If you have a credit card, you keep your money, and they have to figure out a way to make you pay. I can't think of any positives, unless you mean from the perspective of the bank, in which case see the above. Banks spend tons of money trying to convince you to use a debit card. There's a reason for that.
