Basic math and English courses, along with a few basic technology/computer courses, are normally the only prerequisites for information systems programs. Once in the program your courses will become more difficult and focused on your major.

There are trade schools with 18 month to two years RN programs, community colleges with two year programs (after prerequisites) that offer an AS degree, state and private colleges have four year programs that offer BS degrees. You can continue on and get a Master's Degree in specialized care.

Information Systems and Information Technology are essentially the same thing. The only thing that's different is the title. A masters in Information Systems is a graduate degree that extends the Information Systems/Technology Bachelor's degree.
