The main thing to realise is that the Russian RBMK design reactor has only been built in Russia and former Soviet Bloc countries, so the lessons learned are not on the whole applicable. I know that various design changes were made and incorporated in reactors of that type which were still operating subsequent to Chernobyl, but it is still not a design that would be built in the future. The main lesson in general terms is to consider very carefully any experiment to be carried out on a reactor, to make sure the procedure is written up carefully and thoroughly, to make sure the operators understand what is going to be done, and to have a team standing by to advise the operators as it is carried out.
Needless to say, the overriding of safety systems which was part of the reason for the Chernobyl failure must not be allowed. I know for a fact that this would not be allowed in the UK, but of course can't vouch for every country that uses nuclear power. This is one of the unknowns- in countries where the rule of law is somewhat flexible and liable to be broken by over powerful politicians, one can't have full confidence that scientist's advice will always be listened to.
As far as other reactor designs go, certainly Chernobyl would have caused scientists and engineers to think through their safety analysis again, but I doubt if anything positive came out. Diversity of safety shutdown systems for instance was already part of the AGR design and not added after Chernobyl. For the PWR design in the US and elsewhere it was the Three Mile Island incident in 1979 that made people sit up and realise that some aspects of the design needed strengthening, rather than the Chernobyl experience.
A thermometer measures temperature.
A hygrometer measures humidity. Don't confuse it with a hydrometer which measures density.
An imperial gallon used to be used in the United Kingdom and all Commonwealth nations. Even though these measures were superceded by the metric system, vestiges of this measuring system still exist. Primarily in cooking and fluid measures. Englishmen still visit the pubs for dragms and pints of their favorite beverages. These are measures related to the imperial gallon.
UK and the US if anyone knows of any more let me knowUS, Myanmar and Liberia. UK is officially metric although road signs are in imperial measures and thus many people still use these measures for height and weight. All British children since the 1970s have been taught metricthere are three Burma, Liberia and The United states
Velocity measures speed and direction.
preventative medicine measures
No preventative measures are necessary as ghosts do not exist.
= What the preventive measures can you suggestion to minis accident? =
The two main preventative measures for obesity are exercise and diet. Regular exercise includes 150 to 300 minutes of moderately intense activity to limit weight gain. A preventative diet includes low calorie, nutrient dense foods such as fruits and grains.
Education and Preventive legislation :)))))
preventative = to stop something from happeningexample:Take the following preventative measures to avoid illness:wash hands frequentlyget sufficient resteat a balanced diet rich in fruits and vegetables
I would say NOT driving is the only preventative measure. Anyone can get into an accident, but most of the time they are really called, "on purposes". You purposely checked your text message. You purposely turned left in front of that oncoming car. You purposely were distracted by something that caused the 'accident' so please, Pay Attention to your driving.
Dead people won't listen.
Carbon dioxide is causing global warming and climate change. Countries are trying to reduce their emissions of this greenhouse gas. We measure CO2 levels to see if our preventative measures are having any effect.
