The Cons:
The life of a human being is ended. There are lots of other negatives about it depending on the country you are in. In some countries, the cost of appeals can tie up the legal system and the execution can be delayed for decades. In others the family will receive a bill to pay for the bullets used to execute the convicted criminal.
The Pros:
It is supposed to serve as a deterrent to prevent others from doing the same thing. It also removes the convicted criminal from society so that they cannot commit the crime again, or influence others to do similar crimes. It satisfies the human desire for revenge in an orderly and procedurally correct manner.
A con of the death penalty is that it costs the taxpayers a lot of money. The death penalty also comes with moral concerns.
Seriously? There are no "pros." The obvious "cons" are one: you're no longer living!
