Pro: better mpg, and it does not require electricity to run, while gasolines do. for the gasoline to ignite, it needs a spark just before it is compressed by the cylinders, while diesel ignites on just compression. diesel also produces more torque. Con: diesel is a bit more expensive, and gets less horsepower due to lower RMP`s. also, it has trouble starting up in the cold, so when you do start it up, you need to give it at least 5 minutes for it to warm up. or else, it wont run properly, therefor damaging the car reducing the lifespan of it.
