Pro... you can get a job now and earn money to buy that really great ______________ (insert: car, motorcycle, shoes, apartment, computer...) Con... the job I get now will define where I can work for the rest of my life. I'll probably end up ____________ (insert: flipping burgers, bussing tables, washing cars, framing houses, pouring concrete, or whatever other labor intensive job you might find) for the rest of my life. If I end up with a medical condition which limits my physical abilities, I'll be out of work.

there are a few but they arent good

1. alot of time for you to do your own thing

2. look for a job (if you dont have one)

3. You can start your life early

it isn't worht it to drop out of high school. if you get bullyed and stuff like that just ignore it and walk away. because once you get older and pass high school and stick your head in books you can say hey look at my Ford Mustang i have and its all paid off with my good job. if you think about dropping i would really consider you not to..

Pros:

  • parents have control over the curriculum
  • discipline not a problem
  • needs of child met one-on-one
  • easy to tell if child doesn't understand something
  • curriculum can be adjusted to student interest
  • family vacations & holidays can easily be worked around (or incorporated!)
  • parental control over food (important for Allergies)
  • no problem making up missed work for illness
  • does not violate family values
  • no need to worry about dress code

Cons:

  • less opportunity for socialization
  • may not have materials for science labs
  • mandatory state testing
  • no band/chorus/orchestra
  • no team sports
  • hard/uncomfortable for a parent to teach unfamiliar topics
  • parent may not know some high school subjects well enough to teach (Math, Science, Foreign Language)
  • parents may skip subjects they don't like
  • student may not learn about multiple viewpoints on controversial subjects
  • no escape/release for parent or child (especially during adolescence

As much as some students may dislike high school, dropping out does have documented consequences. While you may have no trouble getting a low-wage job, few employers in the higher-wage classifications want to hire someone without at least a high school diploma or G.E.D. Further, a majority of occupations today expect a vocational certificate or a college degree.

There are many studies which show that high school dropouts make less money than those who are graduates. In short, without finishing high school and either getting a skilled trade or attending college (or both), your future earnings and your career options will be very limited.
