I started playing the Trumpet because it got me out of freezing to death playing football in the snow covered fields at my school. Even the tedium of practising outweighed that.
During my youth I used my musical skills I learned at school to perform on TV and in theatres...
... and now in my older life it now allows me to socialise with people whom I would have never met had I not had a musical skill.
