The first political parties were the Federalists and the Democratic-Republicans. Anti-federalists was not a party but rather a faction of U.S. politics and existed when the Constitution was ratified. They came into affect after the dispute over the National Bank. Hamilton, Secretary of Treasury, wanted to create a National Bank in order to create currency and stimulate business (being called the trickle down). Jefferson, Secretary of State, argued that the Constitution didn't authorize such financial control. This argument led to the formation of parties. Just look up the preamble to the constitution and it will tell u. Like it would say something about domestic tranquiltiy being one and something like that. It would help alot if u just look up the preamble and write down what it says in it.
