Sometimes, in order to maintain safety, a criminal justice agency will have to search a person's property or person. Personal freedom is about ensuring that nobody's property or person will be searched without their permission or a reasonable cause.

∙ 13y agoA criminal justice system has two main functions, maintaining public order and maintaining personal freedoms. Public order means that an area is safe, and there aren't people committing crimes and getting away with it. Personal freedom means that people can keep things private without worrying that the government will violate that privacy for no reason.
