What qualities should a good president have?

A president needs to be understanding, and certainly NOT bigoted. A president must see all sides of the arguement, but hold fast in their beliefs. That does NOT mean that they have to be christian.

Well, I think you asked the wrong question. :) All presidents have different qualities. Some are liars and deceivers (bad), others truly want what's best for America (good). Some follow the constitution (good), others raise taxes and lower freedom for the people.Some of Obama's qualities are:

–good speaker

–good humor

–Democrat

–good at convincing/deceiving

–"higher taxes!"

–moves from constitution

A good president should be fair, understanding, open-minded (not too much), someone who sticks to the constitution, preferably not either too republican or democrat, intelligent (not exactly the same as smart), not prejudiced, caring, and hopefully a good speaker.

This also comes down to a matter of opinion. Republicans and democrats each have a different definition of a good president. But I think all these qualities are agreed with by both leftists and rightists.
