Mister 880 was a counterfeiter who eluded capture by the US Secret Service for over a decade. Emerich Juettner aka Edward Mueller forged one dollar bills and never passed them in bulk. He was caught when his apartment caught fire and his belongings were dumped in the alley. All told, he passed nearly $5000 dollars in singles. His nickname derives from the identification number on his secret service case file, 880. In 1950, his story was made into a movie, from which he received more money than he ever made from counterfeiting.
