What does the term incomplete dominance refer to?

In complete dominance or codominance key is when the heterozygous genotype produces a trait that's mixed with the recessive and dominent gene.

What kind of reproduction causes variation in organisms?

Sexual reproduction causes most variation in organisms. This is because genes get mixed up in the process whereas in asexual reproduction the offspring is genetically identical to the parent.

How is Mendel's particulate hypothesis is different from the blending hypothesis of inheritance?

The blending hypothesis, but not the particulate hypothesis, maintained that after a mating, the genetic material provided by each of the two parents is mixed in the offspring, losing its individual identity.

List the key differences between mitosis and meiosis?

Mitosis is the process in which a cell's nucleus replicates and divides. Mitosis results in two cells that are genetically identical. These cells are necessary for growth and replacement of worn out cells, as well as for asexual reproduction (reproduction without eggs and sperm) that takes place in some organisms. Meiosis is the process of cell division in which the cell's genetic information is randomly mixed and divided into sex cells, each having half the normal number of chromosomes. These cells can later combine to form offspring with the full number of chromosomes, but each new offspring will have a unique genetic inheritance.

What is the most likely genetic reason for the offspring of red and white plant to have pink flowers?

The baby plant has one red gene from one parent and one white gene from the other parent. Red mixed with white makes pink.

What is ti called when one trail is not completely dominant over another?

Co-dominance. ex) A white flower and a red flower mix genes. White flower = BB Red flower = AA They have four offspring (insert punnet square) and instead of the offspring coming out as red or white, they are pink (BA). Since both genes are homozygous dominant, they don't have anything recessive to exert their dominance on. Therefore the genes are mixed and create a new phenotype. Same goes with two homozygous recessive, since there is no dominance, their phenotypes are combined and their create anew.
