Good question. First off, do not go to an Army recruiting station. That's just for active and army reserve. You need to go to a local state armory and see a recruiter there. If you can't find one, call 1800GOGUARD or look up army or air national guard, they have various websites to help you locate the closest armory to inquire. All states have their own NG website. Good luck.

Frequently, it is merely a matter of applying via the National Guard website or enlisting at one of their offices. However, it is important to note that there are some criteria with regards to eligibility - one must be between 17-35 years old, be a US citizen, possess a high school diploma and finally meet a series of medical and moral requirements. The advertised stages for joining are contacting a representative to register one's interest, and taking the Armed Services Vocational Aptitude Battery (ASVAB). After this, one is able to enlist and attend Basic Combat Training (BCT).
