are you asking because you think that there are seven steps? where did you come up with that?

Regardless, there is one way to understand parables in The Bible (which is what I am assuming you are talking about.) When you read or hear the Word, it is like planting a seed. As the seed has to grow, the word has to grow in your heart (spirit) until it "bears fruit" or until the understand and chage in you comes. Just as planting a seed, you must take care that nothing stops the growth or you will never harvest the fruit.

Steps in interpreting the Parables:The passage- know what the passage says

The parameters- know the historical context

The problem- know the problem presented

The progression- know the flow of the narrative

The presentation- analyze, organize & outline the events according to the progression of the parable

The point- what is the point

The program of God- how does the parable relate to the kingdom program of God?

The particulars- understand the particulars of the parable

The principles- How can we apply this
