The prosecution and defense share some similarities in that both:
- are lawyers
- must deal with a Judge
- must often deal with media
- develop a pre-trial strategy
- present a theory of the crime
- offer a theory of "who done it"
- have some level of public speaking
- can offer reasons for the strategy or strategies they each pick
- revise their strategies as needed during trial
- are (hopefully) passionate in presenting their cases
- think quickly on their feet
- represent a particular entity in the case (defense: defendant ; prosecution: victim via "The State")
- must often deal with family members
- feel somewhat victorious when they win their arguments and/or the case
- win some cases
- lose some cases
- continue on to the next case
- may have repeat business with one particular client or a defendant

∙ 15y agoOther than the fact that they are both attorneys, not much. One prosecutes the defendant and tries to put them in jail, the defense tries just as hard to 'defend' them.
