what is the purpose of setting deadline for a goal
The goal setting theory was derived after studying many successful people from all walks of life. In these studies performed by several different people it was found that those that were successful all had one thing in common and that was that they set goals. When digging a little deeper it was found that the goals these people set all had similar quality's. They included. The goal must be clearly defined The goal must be challenging There must be a certain level of commitment to achieve the goal The goal must have a deadline And the goal must be quantifiable. (you have to be able to measure progress)
The four main goal setting steps are to writing down the initial goal, writing down daily progress towards that goal, talking about it with someone else to stick with it, and going through the actual plan. Many people try to tackle goals all at once, but it is easier to break them up into steps like these.
Objectives are small steps in the accomplishment of a large goal. In setting objectives, it is wise to think of all that is necessary to achieve the large goal, think of which order those steps should be taken, and how they can be met most efficiently with the time and resources available. At each step, there should be some kind of test or checkup to determine whether the objective has been met. At the end, there should be some kind of assessment to determine whether the goal has been met.
