It depends on what you think. If you like comic books, then I am pretty sure that there is no harm in reading them. You should read comic books in your free time, or before bedtime. But please read and encourage others to read books appropriate to their age. Some comics have romantic sense of humor, while others have a violent touch. Reading comic books like a very popular series"Garfield", is not harmful to children, I am prerrt sure about that. :) Hope that helped!
No, Amulet books are not considered manga. Manga refers to Japanese comic books or graphic novels with a specific art style and storytelling format, while Amulet books are a series of graphic novels created by an American author.
NOTE: I am not trying to put down comic books, I am just saying that in my opinion Manga is better .. Manga is in general more of a story, whereas comic books are more a bunch of mini stories. Some certain manga are not only for children (such as Detective Conan --also known as Case Closed, by Gosho Aoyama) and are fun to read while still educational-- in a way, the information you learn rubs off on you-- while comic books are for children and basically only teach people about justice and all that. It's good stuff to learn, I admit, but learning about how to think is, I believe, more important.
A lot of people say that comic books are of a lesser value than a "real" books; that comic strips belong to a culture of pictures, so are good enough for those who spend their free time watching TV or surfing the Net. It is widely belief that comic books are an obstacle on the way to reading something more serious; that they are mostly aimed at children, and adults, who are wise enough to appreciate literature shouldn't waste time on them.

The comic books, because I never like cartoons with animation and drawings that look "fake". Conversely, I never liked the Teen Titans in comic form, but rather enjoyed the cartoon. The comic book tried a little too hard to be "edgy" and "relevant", while the cartoon was just goofy and fun. (Also, cartoon Starfire was a lot cuter than the implanterrific comic version.)
Kind of. There are a few mangas (Japanese comic books) that have made the games into stories. Some of them blow while others rock (Ocarina of Time was really cool). Just Google "Zelda Manga"
It is a strip carrtoon, several panels per day- a lengthy story can thus be serialized but this is not too common at present. All of the comic strips in the Jersey Journal are humorous and laugh at the end of the panel things. This contrasts with adventure strips such as Brick Bradford- which could keep a basic plot alive for months! something has jhappened to dumb down cartoons.
