The statute of Our Lady of Walsingham shows Mary holding the child Jesus. She also holds a lily in her hand. The lily represents purity. Most Christians regard Mary as being pure in the sense that she conceived Jesus in her womb without losing her virginity. (Christians believe that the Holy Spirit miraculously caused the fertilisation of one of Mary's eggs, which resulted in Jesus). The statute also portrays Mary in a blue robe, blue being the religious colour representing/symbolising motherhood. Lastly, Mary is shown wearing a crown which symbolises her being 'Queen' of heaven.
