I suffered arsonphobia for a long time, and had therapy when I was 12 for it. Some of the symptoms of arsonphobia are refusal to light matches, be anywhere near open flames, etc. I used to pretend to go to the toilet everytime someone would sing happy birthday because I feared the candles. Another symptom is feeling nauses or anxious from seeing open flames, matches, or even just photos/footage on television, in books, etc. I got sweaty palms, my heart would race, I felt anxious all the time. Hope that helps
Fear of fire
Arsonophobia or pyrophobia. As far as I can tell, the two phobias are synonymous with each other. Both are a fear of fire in some form or another, ranging anywhere from a candle, to a campfire, to a forest fire.
Arsonphobia or pyrophobia are pathological fear of fire. On the other hand, it is quite normal to be afraid of things that can hurt you. In that case, it is called "common sense".
Arsonphobia, the fear of fire or being burned, can stem from a variety of factors, including traumatic experiences related to fire, such as witnessing a fire or suffering burns. It may also arise from a general anxiety disorder or other phobias, where the fear of losing control or facing danger manifests as a fear of fire. Additionally, cultural influences, media portrayals, and personal beliefs about fire can contribute to the development of this phobia.
