Hi, I've owned a sick Pomeranian for 10 years of my life ( She was 15 years old when she died but I got her when she was 5) and know many signs of sickness. Signs in feces: -Watery, disgusting and dreadful smelling poo. Often in large bouts, it will be everywhere and very runny. -Odd color. If your dogs poo is not a some sort of shade of brown for quite a while, go to the vet as soon as possible. Colors such as blue, bright orange, bright green or red need vet consultation. However, if it only happens once there's probably nothing wrong. -No poo at all. If your dog is eating but nothing is coming out the other end, a bowel blockage is very possible. This can happen if your dog swallowed an indigestible piece of bone, a coin, a rock or a hard object. Unless it comes out, go to your vet to get it pulled out or to get your dog operated on. Urine- -Fishy or odd smell. If your dogs urine has an unpleasant stench for quite a while, go to the vet. -Dark brown color. A dark brown color for a while is likely kidney failure. Visit your vet ASAP!
In municipal areas, it is to stop the possibility of urine and feces getting into the rivers and streams.
I would say urine or feces regardless of the animal would be toxic. Especially as urine alone contains ammonia.
== == == == NO! They are cruel to all dogs in them. Would you like to be crammed in a cage with nothing but urine feces and other dogs? ---- == ==
No. There are parasites in feces. Consuming feces can make dogs sick or have worms.
they do it to stop getting themselves wet with urine
They may be eating their own or other dogs feces because of a nutritional reason. They may not be getting the nutrition they need from their diet so they eat the other animals feces as a way of getting the nutrients. Mother dogs eat pups' feces to avoid attracting predators. Puppies may do it as part of their exploration of the world, and the behavior can be reinforced by the attention it attracts.
They don't necessarily kick it on the feces. When dogs kick up grass or dirt, they are marking it as their "territory".
Dogs need something in their body when they eat their own feces and feces of other animals. They usually do not have a dietary dficiency but it could be some type of medical disorder.
While proin may help dogs with urine incontinence, proin has known effects of making dogs succumb to stokes. The symptoms and side effects are less likely to happen to healthy dogs but caution is still advised.
A dog will eat its own feces if it is still hungry or lacking nutrients because feces can still contain some nutrients, but extremely little, and its own feces is another source they know is safe to eat because hyenas drink their own urine during a drought to prevent dehydration. It is a survival instinct.
