Mucous discharge (if bacterial in nature, if viral then it is usually just watery discharge), redness (erythema), and blurred vision. Sometimes a foreign body sensation is noted by the patient.

No side effects once it is cured. As a teacher I get it every so often, but you do have to throw away all of your eye makeup and get new to prevent it from reoccurring since it could be in the old makeup
