If you intend to publish or sell the book in any way, then you may refer to the characters but not let them say or do anything. If you're just writing for fun then go crazy.
The main character in "A Long Way Gone" by Ishmael Beah is Ishmael Beah himself. The book is a memoir of Beah's experiences as a child soldier in Sierra Leone. Other characters include his family members, friends, and fellow child soldiers he meets along the way.
to make you get to know the characters so the book doesn't get confusing for some readers because of to many characters or because the author wants the characters to seem exiting all the way through
I'm sorry, but I got the same question on an assignment and I can tell you that by the way you are asking you need ananswer for school so I won't help you.
san fransisco!
I'm about half way through it and it's a great book. I love the characters, and how it tells each of their stories, instead of just one of the characters. The author tells the story as, he did this, she said this, instead of I did/said that. Between each chapter is in different characters point of views, so you can get to know each of the main characters.
Because of Winn-Dixie is a fictional book. There is no way to know what the characters looked like in the author's imagination, so you can use your own imagination. In other words, the characters look like whatever you imagine they look like.
What is the main theme or message of the book? How do the characters develop throughout the story? What is the author's writing style and does it impact the story? How does the setting contribute to the overall tone of the book?
Although the movie is great, i would have to say the books are way better. in the book you get more attached to the characters but in the movie its as if you werent attatched to rue when she died. The book also gives way more information. :)
