By about year 10 in secondary schools you can choose your subjects, but English is always compulsory. Before year ten most students will have to do maths, English, science, humanities (geography/history), Physical education & Health, LOTE (language other than English) and another subject that will usually swap by term or semester which could include subjects such as art, graphics, drama, woodwork, food tech, metalwork, textiles, electronics and drama.
