Ecuador (which is actually the Spanish word for equator) in South America, Kenya and Gabon (both in Africa). The equator actually goes through all three of these countries.
The name of the lines are The Tropic of Cancer, The Tropic of Capricorn, and The Arctic Circle.
Well, there is only one equator on Earth and its called the "Equator".
a line of latitude?
The three continents below the equator are Africa, Australia, and South America.
"West of the equator" simply doesn't make sense. If you take any point at the equator and go exactly west, you are STILL at the equator.
In the Atlantic and eastern Pacific they north of the equator are called hurricanes. In the western Pacific north of the equator they are called typhoons. In the northern Indian Ocean they are called very severe cyclonic storms.

The three countries that the equator passes through are Ecuador, Colombia, and Brazil. Additionally, the equator also crosses through several other countries in Africa and Asia, but these three are notable in South America. Ecuador is named after the equator, which runs directly through it.
Three: Africa, Asia, and South America.
All lines of longitude pass through the Equator.
The equator cuts across territory of Africa, Asia, and South America. That's three. Note: If you encounter this subject in school, it'll probably help you a lot more to know their names than to know only that there are 3 of them.
