Your best bet is to download Antivirus software.

Some of the brands downloadable for free or some can be paid for.

Microsoft Security Essentials

AVG

Norton

McAfee

Kaspersky

Webroot

Trend Micro

Personally from my experience Microsoft Security Essentials is great for windows XP, Vista, or Windows 7 and is built into windows 8 consumer preview.

However this software is not available on any version older that windows XP and from any other company supplying software for example: Apple

Hope this helped, also just be careful what you do online what emails you open and what devices you sync with your computer
