Explain at least three ways political parties campaign for their candidates to be elected.
1. Organize elections by nominating candidates and seeking office. 2. Build coalitions by attracting group support, pulling groups into the democratic process. 3. Work to simplify political choices. 4. Organize government and policy making, attempting to use the institutions of government to reflect the will of the voters.

There are three candidates being interviewed.
Buckingham was the only constituency not contested by a candidate representing one of the three major parties. It is the seat represented by the current Speaker of the House, John Bercow. By convention in the UK, the three major parties do not nominate candidates in the Speaker's constituency so he or she can safely be reelected to Parliament. This reflects the fact the Speaker is independent and above party politics, being required to leave his or her party upon being elected Speaker. However, Mister Bercow is a former Conservative MP, and he is treated as such by most polling agencies. In Northern Ireland's 18 constituencies, the three major parties do not nominate their own candidates. In 2010 however, the Conservatives nominated joint-candidates with the Ulster Unionist Party, meaning it technically contested these seats. Fermanagh and South Tyrone was the only Northern Irish seat without a Conservative-endorsed candidate. It was, however, contested by the SDLP - Labour's sister party, though the two do not nominate joint candidates.
