Tlingits wore clothing made of natural materials available in the area. Frequently clothing would be made of animal hide, wool, fur, or other materials found in the area. Tlingits are well known for their "button blankets" and for "Chilkat blankets" that are worn as a part of tradition, and also for warmth. Historically Tlingits fashioned tools with natural tools made of rock, copper, and wood. Tlingit would hunt, but concentrated heavily on Salmon fishing. Today's Tlingits hunt like any other person would, both using traditional tools and modern technology.
The Tlingit Indians are original people of the Pacific Northwest Coast. They live in southern Alaska and in British Columbia and the Yukon in Canada.
