What is sophisticated thinking?

Sophisticated thinking is an advanced thought process. The cerebrum part of the brain controls your thought process. The bigger the cerebrum the more advanced thought process. For example chimpanzees and humans have relatively similar cerebrum sizes which is why we bothcan make tools and such things. While a frogs has little to no cerebrums. which is why their actions r more based on instinct than a deliberate thought.

Why is philosophy considered the parent science?

Philosophy, is basically theoretical science. The ancient Greeks thought they could figure out the mysteries of the universe, just by thinking about them. Of course, you're not going to get very far in science, without being able to prove what you're thinking is true. So Galileo Galilei, comes along with a solution to the problem and says you have to use experimentation. The ancient Greeks where pure philosophers, who where responsible for the famed library at alexsandria. Philosophy is called the parent science, because out of it came all other science. And people like Galileo, Newton, and Einstein are some of the very big stepping stones to modern science.

What is right or wrong may differ from individual to individual, group to group, society to society. How can critical and creative thinking tools be a catalyst to the eradication of impunity?

Impunity is the exemption from punishment or loss. Long before the disputed elections in 2007, the culture of impunity has been trending deep in Kenya. Felons are turning into heroes and the browbeaten justice is disregarded depending on one's political ground. It's more worrying that amnesty is anchored more in the judiciary than civil justice. The Anglo leasing scandal, Goldenberg cases, mystery murders of Dr. Robert Ouko and Tom Mboya, bank robberies, Government tender system are but few of the ones one can talk about from the ever-growing list of injustices. People have been executed for pointing out these cases, yet the criminals go unpunished.Critical and creative thinking is the necessary tool for individual transformation from pre-conventional stage of the mind; where one has no sense of right and wrong, through conventional stage to post conventional stage; where one is able to think for oneself. Transformation is the ability to positively change from irrational thinking to autonomous and rational way of thinking. The process of full transformation by critical and creative thinking as a tool is realized by acquisition of valuable intellectual traits. As transformative thinking, critical thinking fosters the development of intellectual dispositions that facilitate the sustainability of disciplined thinking. The CCT tools of transformation that can help eradicate impunity in Kenya include:Intellectual empathy: The inherent complexity of a person's attributes is molded in such a way that the person is rational in his/her decisions. If Kenyans were rational, then cases of embezzlement of public wealth, injustices and abuse of office would be a thing of the past. The result would be well managed public wealth, democracy and justice for all irrespective of political ground. In the so doing, impunity will be eradicated and the nation would be an impunity-free republic. This would see the leaders that we have concentrating solely on the public wellbeing, development projects in the country and even elevation of living standards among Kenyans.Intellectual integrity: Critical thinking applies universal standards on thinking in order to determine the quality and excellence of thought. The few Kenyans who use power of office to conduct civil injustices will be transformed individuals and if they refine and assess their thoughts, their verdict will not be based on private gain but rather, the maximum good for Kenyans. For example, considering the 2007 disputed elections and focusing on the Waki commission that was investigating this issue, the individuals in power would make sure that convicted individuals are effectively punished according to the law. The justice of Kenyans who were displaced and impoverished during the skirmishes would be a priority to our leaders, for they will consider these people before they think of increasing their salaries.Intellectual humility: This is having a consciousness of the limits of one's knowledge, including sensitivity to circumstances in which one's native egocentrism is likely to function self-deceptively. If Kenyans were to embrace this; we would have equal opportunities for every Kenyan since all people in authority would ignore any biasness they could have and make rightful distinctions. For example during job interviews; the interviewer will have to ignore any personal biasness towards a certain candidate and choose the most appropriate one.Intellectual Perseverance: This is the disposition to work one's way through intellectual complexities despite the frustration inherent in a certain task. Considering when one is answerable to authority, for example in disputed elections; it would take intellectual perseverance for a member of the elections board act calmly and justifiably to ensure that the dispute is well resolved.Intellectual courage: Conclusions and beliefs inculcated in people are sometimes false or misleading. To evaluate for oneself what makes sense; one must not passively and uncritically accept what one has realized. With intellectual courage; there is some truth in some ideas considered meaningless, and variance in some ideas strongly held by societies to which we belong. Kenyans need courage to be fair-minded thinkers in these circumstances. The penalties for nonconformity can be disastrous.Impunity has been a great setback to Kenya's development in all fields and can only be curbed if we Kenyans embrace critical and creative thinking in our actions. This transformation of individuals to autonomy and rationality will be an effect that will reasonably eradicate impunity in this country.0
