How did you learn to ride a bike?

My first bike had training wheels and after I had ridden for a few weeks, Dad raised those training wheels up about an inch of the ground, still able to support the bike tipping. As the weeks passed the training wheels would be continued to be adjusted upward until they were no longer needed. The first solo ride without them was a glorious experience. Once you have ridden a bicycle, you never forget how for the rest of your life, even if you haven't ridden for many years.
