Proteins and lipids
Water molecules travel through the plasma membrane, tonoplast membrane. In biological systems, the solvent is typically water.
Chemically hormones belong chiefly to two molecular groups. The two groups are the steroids and the amino acid based molecules.
The hydrophobic phospholipid (HPhoPL) tails in the plasma membrane bilayer points toward the other mirrored HPhoPL tailfrom the other side of bilayer. The polar sides point to the outside: the 'water'side of the cel content.

A selectively permeable membrane is most often attributed to the cell membrane (plasma membrane) of cells. It is constructed of nonpolar phospholipids that will not dissolve many substances, like ions or large molecules. There are carrier proteins embedded in the membrane that allow only certain substances through.
plasma membrane is made of organic molecules called lipds and proteins

The cell membrane is a membrane separating the inside of the cell from the outside environment. This structure is also known as the plasma membrane or the cytoplasmic membrane.

Proteins
Selective permeability refers to the fact that the plasma membrane can choose which molecules to let in or out of the cell.
phospholipids are the molecules that make up the plasma membrane and they are made of polar (hydrophilic) heads and 2 non-polar (hydrophobic) tails
it is permeable to some molecules and not permeable to others.

Facilitated Diffusion
it regulates the entry and exitof the molecules
