While terrestrial planets are made of rock and have gases in the atmosphere, jovian planets are made almost entirly of gases. If an atmosphere is made of gases in a planet, then the atmosphere of the planets with more gases will be thicker.

Why do Jovian planets have a thicker atmosphere than the terrestrial planets?

Jovian planets do not have a solid surface, therefore their atmospheres are thick all the say to where their surface would be. Their atmospheres have more gasses than those surrounding terrestrial planets.

Are the jovian planets similar in mass to the terrestrial planets?

No. The Jovian planets are much more massive than the terrestrial planets.

Are jovian planets larger than terrestrial planets?

Yes, Jovian planets are much larger than terrestrial planets.

Why are the densities of terrestrial planets greater than Jovian planets?

Terrestrial planets are made of rock. Jovian planets are gas giants.

How does the size of the terrestrial planets compare with jovian planets?

All of the jovian planets are more massive than any of the terrestrial planets.

The differences between terrestrial and jovian planets?

the Terrestrial planets are the four closest and th Jovian planets are the farthestjoivoin

Is hydrogen more abundant on terrestrial planets than on Jovian planets?

No, there is more hydrogen on the Jovian planets then the terrestrial ones.

How does the diameter of the terrestrial and jovian planets compare?

The diameter of a terrestrial and jovian planets are comparable in the sense that the objects orbiting on a terrestrial level are often much bigger than those of jovian planets.

What are terrestrial planets and jovian planets?

The Terrestrial planets are Mercury, Venus, Earth, and Mars. The Jovian planets are Jupiter, Saturn, Uranus, and Neptune.

Is a Jovian planets is call Inner?

Inner planets are terrestrial planets outer are jovian planets

Is the average density of terrestrial planets the same density as Jovian planet?

No. Terrestrial planets are much denser than Jovian planets.

Is a terrestrial planet bigger than a Jovian planet?

No. Jovian planets are much larger than terrestrial planets.

Terrestrial and jovian planets?

Terrestrial planets are the solid planets like Earth and Mars. Jovian planets are those gas planets like Jupiter and Saturn.

Why are the terrestrial and Jovian planets so different in composition?

While the terrestrial planets are mostly rocky with metallic cores, the Jovian planets are huge balls of gas. The Jovian Planets are also much larger than the terrestrial ones.

Compare and contrast terrestrial and Jovian planets?

The main difference is size. Jovian planets are very large and terrestrial planets aren't. Jovian planets are also made of gas and terrestrials are made of rocks.

The most obvious difference between the terrestrial and the jovian planets is?

The size. The gaseous Jovian planets are far larger than the inner terrestrial planets.

How do Jovian and terrestrial planets compare?

Jovian planets are more massive and lower in average density. Terrestrial planets are smaller and higher in average density.

Is mercury a terrestrial or a jovian?

Terrestrial. Terrestrial planets are rocky, like Earth (terra=earth), and jovian planets are gaseous, like Jupiter (jove=jupiter).

How do the terrestrial planets differ from the Jovian planets?

Terrestrial planets are much smaller with rocky cores whereas Jovian planets are much larger and are made up of mostly gases.

Which planet it not a jovian planet?

Mercury, Venus, Earth and Mars are not "Jovian planets". They are called "terrestrial planets". The Jovian planets are the bigger "gas giant" planets.

Why are Jovian planets less dense than terrestrial planets?

Terrestrial Planets are more dense than Jovian planets because terrestrial planets are mainly made of solids such as rock and metal, whilst Jovian planets are mainly made of gasses, and the density of solids is much higher than that of gases

Are the planets that have a higher density the Terrestrial planets or the Jovian planets?

The Terrestrial planets have a higher density. Their structure includes a large percentage of rock, while the Jovian planets are composed mostly of gas.

What is a list of the main differences between the Jovian and Terrestrial planets?

The jovian planets have no solid ground just compressed gases the terrestrial planets have solid ground. The Jovian planets are named gas giants because they are farther then the sun and are not solid and the terrestrial planets are closer to the sun and do not have as much gases.
