  1. Cells or cell-like bodies: These include Erythrocytes, Leukocytes and thrombocytes ( Thrombocytes are not cells but pieces of large cells called megakaryocytes.) These make 45% of blood.
  2. Plasma: This is the fluid portion of blood in which various compounds like hormones, gases, metabolic wastes, blood proteins and nutritive compounds. This makes up 55% of blood.

PLasma and The actual red blood cells. They are composed of oxygen and nutrients to be sent around the body. And there is also a tad bit of white blood cells. If you leave blood sit in a vial for a long time, you can see the plasma, rbc's and wbc's.
