A primary light source is one that actually produces light, such as a light bulb or the sun.

A secondary light source in one that ONLY reflects the light produced by a primary light source. It doesn't produce light itself, such as a mirror or the moon.

Light can have two types of sources; natural and artificial.

Natural sources include the sun and other stars.

Artificial sources include lamps powered by electricity.

Identify two sources of white light?

The two sources of white light are: *visible light *The Sun.

What do mirror do to light waves?

there are three types of light waves i.e infrared light, visible light and ultra violet light. Out of these, only visible light rays (waves) gets reflected by the mirror but the other two light waves passes through the mirror.

Which two waves lie at the ends of the visible spectrum?

Red & violet.

Can light waves show interference?

Yes, if the light comes from synchronous interfering sources such as a beam which has been split, sent down two paths, and recombined. An example is the famous Michaelson-Morley experiments in a search for the ether. The interference worked fine, but there is no ether.

What are two different types of light waves?

Light waves usually refers to visible light but can also include infra red and ultraviolet light.

What do mirrors do to light wave?

As you know that there are three types of light waves i.e infrared light, visible light and ultra violet light. Out of these, only visible light rays (waves) gets reflected by the mirror but the other two light waves passes through the mirror.

Which kind of waves are the longest Radar waves Radio waves Visible Light or Gamma Rays?

for wavelength, the longer of the two is visible light, but the longest type of rays are radio waves (some of them have a wavelength as long as a football field)

Why can two radio stations send signals out into the same space at the same time?

Radio waves are a type of electromagnetic radiation similar to visible light. If there were 2 light sources with different color light you would not have any problem seeing both colors. It is the same with radio waves on different wavelengths.

What can radio waves do that visible light cannot?

Electromagnetic waves can travel through a vacuum.

What is the difference between light energy and radio wave energy?

Visible light and radio waves are both two types of the same radiation (electromagnetic waves). The difference is that visible light has a higher frequency; a higher energy per photon; and a smaller wavelength.

Why are two independent sources of light used to illuminate the two slits in Young's double slit experiment?

You have to correct the question as,Why are two independent sources of light not used to illuminate the two slits in Young's double slit experiment? We need coherent sources. But two independent sources would emit waves with varying phase difference which makes waves non coherent.

What is the difference between a monochromatic light and coherent light waves?

The term "mono" refers to a singular object or subject. The term "chrome" refers to colors. The term "monochrome" is a reference to a single color. ie., if two lights are monochromatic that means they have same wavelength. If two waves are monochromatic (having the same wavelength) and are of the same phase, these two waves are defined as coherent waves. Sources generating such waves are known as coherent sources.
