there are three types of light waves i.e infrared light, visible light and ultra violet light. Out of these, only visible light rays (waves) gets reflected by the mirror but the other two light waves passes through the mirror.

When you see your image in a mirror what is bouncing back from the surface of the mirror?

Light waves are bouncing back from the surface of the mirror. These light waves carry the image of you that you see in the mirror by reflecting the light that hits the mirror back to your eyes.

What do mirrors do to light wave?

As you know that there are three types of light waves i.e infrared light, visible light and ultra violet light. Out of these, only visible light rays (waves) gets reflected by the mirror but the other two light waves passes through the mirror.

Describe how the reflection of light waves enables you to see your image in a mirror?

When light waves hit a mirror, they bounce off at the same angle they hit the mirror's surface. This process, known as reflection, allows the light waves to maintain their original image as they bounce off the mirror and into your eyes. Your brain interprets the light waves that reach your eyes as an image, enabling you to see your reflection in the mirror.

Describe how the reflection of light waves enables you to see your image in the mirror.?

The light then reflects off the mirror into the eyes.

Which type of light wave acts like a mirror?

Visible light waves. When visible light waves encounter a shiny surface like a mirror, they are reflected in a predictable manner due to the smoothness of the mirror's surface, creating a clear reflection.

How are light waves reflected off of a shiny surface like a mirror?

Light waves are reflected off a shiny surface like a mirror due to the law of reflection, which states that the angle of incidence is equal to the angle of reflection. When light waves hit a mirror, they bounce off in a predictable manner, allowing us to see a clear reflection of the objects in front of the mirror.

What are Most commonly used surfaces that light waves are reflected?

mirror

What the similarities between echoes of sound and images in a mirror?

Echoes of sound and images in a mirror involves sound waves and light waves respectively being reflected off a surface.

What happens to the light wave after it stikes the mirror?

When a light wave strikes a mirror, it undergoes reflection, which means it bounces off the mirror's surface. The angle of reflection is equal to the angle of incidence. The mirror changes the direction of the light wave but does not change its speed or frequency.

Do light rays reflect or refract when they hit a concave mirror?

Light rays reflect when they hit a concave mirror. The parallel rays of light converge at the focal point after reflection.

Why do you see only portion of the area behind you when you look in a mirror?
